Oh! Those eyes

"In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king's men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem. One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing."
2Samuel 11:1-2

The keyword here is Saw. How many times have you seen something and sinned? Can't think of anything?
Okay let's try this:

Girls, How many times have you seen one of your friends wear something, that you really liked, and even wished and thought to yourself "Aww, why does she have that, and i don't" Hmmm how about now?

How about when you see a pretty girl, that is dressed nice and formal, and then all of a sudden a thought comes up in your mind saying 'She thinks, she's better then you'
OH got you there didn't i?

Yup, you see everyone sins through there eyes. Now just because everyone does it, it doesn't mean that your not going to prevent from something like that to happen.

How?

Simple, Keep your eyes set on God. Yes! it's just like that. If you keep your eyes focused on Him, Your not even going to notice when the devil tries to distract you! Because your so into God!

Remember "Be careful little eyes what you see, oh be careful little eyes what you see.
For the Father up above, is looking down at you. Oh be careful little eyes
                        What you see..."

That wall!

Okay so Some of you guys may have heard this story before, but I'm going to be writing about it again because mainly i think its a very important story.

Once there was a teen sitting on top of a big wall, on one side of the wall were some a couple of bad teens calling out to him. On the other side of the wall were another group of teens but these were good kids. The "bad" teens stayed calling out to the young man but the other group just stayed on the other side staring up at him. This happened for about an hour or so, Finally The young man called out to the group that were not yelling up at him and asked them "the group over there keeps calling me, why don't you guys call out to me too?"
Finally one person from the group called out to him and said "Because, by you sitting on that wall, you have already made your decision"

That teen on the wall represents us, the "Bad" group represents the devil. "good" group represents God, Either you choose God or the devil, you cant stay on the "wall" ,Because by you staying on that wall you have chosen already and lets just say that it's not a very wise choice.

Are you on that wall?

Giving up?

"That's it! I give up"
 "What's wrong now Debora?"
"I just can't take it! i clean, fix everything, and when i come back, it's all messy again, and worst of all i have to do it all over again because if i leave it how it is, no one will take the courage to fix it!"
"So what? your just going to ignore it, and leave God's house like that?"
...."No, i don't have the courage to do that.", "Well good,  the more you give to God, the more you will receive"

Unfortunately that was one of the discussions i had with my mom, one Wednesday night. On Sunday i had cleaned the Kids Zone, i swept, i mopped, even cleaned the tables and the chairs everything perfect. Then i had organized everything the chairs around the table for the big kids, the paper all put away, crayons etc...

To my dismay i arrived on Wednesday to find everything out of order! Again! if i told you how many times i had to do all of that stuff and plus fix the snacks and juices well lets just say there were a lot of times i had to do that. Worst of all is that every time i do it, i get my hopes up that whoever would be the teacher the next day would get the point and do the same thing, well my hopes and dreams were crashed.

Hey don't get me wrong please i love doing those stuff, because it isn't for me, or my parents, not even for the teacher, i do it for God! But i can't help into getting a little bit tired of doing the same thing over and over again! Trust me you would get tired!

On that same Wednesday i was debating into telling whoever was the teacher the day before a little bit of what's on my mind (Yea, I'm the kind of person that doesn't like to stay quiet when i know that something is wrong) but just then God spoke to me, "Giving up?", "What? no I'm not! i just want to tell her that what she did was wrong, how is that giving up?", "Your giving up on the responsibilities I'm giving you, if you tell her she will start doing it and then what are you going to do?"

Yup! it was just like that, by me telling the poor teacher what she did was wrong (wish I'm pretty sure she knew) next time she would clean after herself, but she wouldn't do it with as much care and love, as i would do it, She will probably just do it because i pointed it out for her and she would feel forced to do it. So, yes i let it go and, left it in God's hands to talk to her one day and tell her Himself.

Sometimes God gives us some responsibilities and we don't even consider it as one! but it is because He is trusting us with something special, and what happens when you don't want to do it anymore? What happens when you give up? Then what? Well I'm sorry for the bad news but eventually God gives up on you! Just like you gave up, He gives up too.

Well, now i have to ask this question, Are YOU going to give up?

The three-faced girl.

She looks at herself in the mirror as she  puts on her makeup getting ready for another day at church.

If it was up to her she wouldn't go, she would stay home watching t.v. Though she really won't  admit it to anyone not even her mom, she has to seem like she's a good girl.

At least when she gets to church she'll meet up with her friends, and she can act like herself (well part of herself) If she acted like who she really was, they would go running off to tell her parents.

At least she'll be a little bit more comfortable, Once she's done getting ready, they head towards church. It's Friday so that means after the 7 pm service there will be a vigil, She plans to skip it, make her mom think she's either in with the kids or in the service, But in reality she'll  be inside one of her friends car listening to music and just waiting for the service to finish.

Okay lets stop there...

That girl was me, hard as it is to think back and remember all those times that i acted like i was a "good girl", It was me the liar, the rebel, the two faced and so many other things.

Being a pastors daughter was never easy, (and it still isn't) I would not actually be a two-faced, i was a Three-faced! At home one thing, school My actual self, and at church half of My actual self.

In reality school was the only place where i could be myself, no one knew me! They didn't know who my parents were, Or where they worked so that would be perfect for me.

But as the day would come into an end, and i would lay down to sleep reality set in and the tears would fall, I wondered over and over again why did God gave me this life.
It was hard, but i had decided a long time ago that i had to let it go, i couldn't be lying about who i was my whole life! I had decided to become myself everywhere i was.

With God's help i wasn't any more the three-faced liar, I was me! and who am i?
I'm the girl that hates quitting
I'm the girl that loves to sing
I'm the girl that fights and never gives up!
I'm the girl that gave her life to God, and that doesn't regret it one bit!
I'm that girl that God wanted me to be all along.

And who are you?

Is it to much?

Have you ever felt like there might be just to much work?
Maybe you felt like your the only one working...

I have a lot of times.

God made me realize that i can't do everything by myself, I would have to ask other people to help me out!

Now it's not that I'm being greedy and i don't want to share, it's that well I'm a shy person and i don't want to pressure the person into helping me out.

For me it's the hardest thing! asking people, but once i got used to asking for help, they actually do it! of course if we ask the rite people. Not only did it help me but it will brought a blessing to my helper as well.

What I'm trying to say is you can't climb the highest hill by yourself, Your going to need some help.

Of course God will give you the strength to climb it! But what if on top of that hill there is a blessing waiting?

Are you going to be greedy and take that blessing all for yourself?

Or are you willing to share?

I would definitely share! after all doesn't the bible say:

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
and the one who is wise saves lives."
                                                   Proverbs 11:30

So if your asked to do something, and you agree to it how about asking one of your friends to help you out. You may be saving His/Her soul.

And you, that isn't asked to do anything, but sees someone lets say cleaning the church by them self go ahead and grab a broom and help clean!

Granted to have a blessing the next day or who knows maybe that same day!

Nothing is ever too much for God!

When the going gets tough

Well hello, i know it's been a long time since i have written anything.
I have decided to start once again, now i won't promise that i will write
everyday, but i will try my best to keep this blog up to date.

Have you noticed that every time we seem to be doing something rite,
something else gets in your way to just bring it all down.
I have gone through that, and let me tell you something,
I still go through it!

You may be thinking then why does God let this happen?
well i have your answer. It's very simple, He lets all that happen because
He wants to test us, He needs to see where our faith lays, in Him or in something
totally different! It may be hard, let me tell you it's not going to get any easier,
For all i know it'll get harder, but in the end we will be the ones with the victory.

"When the going gets tough" Don't give up!
